Honestly I just like the most "vanilla" experience in games mostly due to the fact that the expansions often throw the game balance off a fair bit, like let's just introduce more power creep into the game lol
But yea, some expansions for Stellaris are epic, like hivemind races or robotic races etc, also Stellaris is a massive sci-fi show by itself

She arrives in Bangkok and becomes part of a hedonistic community of western expats. She makes two new friends - Ariane de Saynes, a 30-year-old French countess, and Marie-Anne, a younger girl. Both friendships have a strong homoerotic flavor.

Bangkok is portrayed as a hedonistic city which has a sybaritic effect on its western expat population.[1] Emmanuelle has erotic encounters in settings that represent stereotypes for the exoticism of the East (a massage parlor,[2] opium den,[3] and temple[4]).

Eh, in every media these days they thank everyone and even their cat… but it all makes sense, could you write without your cat? Probably not

I dunno, if you ask me why would I want to write a book, I would say dat I want for wat I write to be a statement. Maybe wat I want is a sentimentality, dat we call structure

Well, it is not so simple, there are many reasons why peoplr don't develop their creative skills. My views on writing is very liberal, I think dat anyone who can make a todo list can wrote a good story or a good book. But you are right, ultimately, everyone writes from their experience. Though it is not the same as inspiration, sometimes I can't write anything simply because I don't have some interesting idea, and dat is wat I mean by inspiration

Wat I mean by time management, well, wat I meant is a bit different. Not simply dat but also more in depth, like how much time would you spend on some part of the story or time spent on learning, thing like dat

Yeah, you are right, but knowing other's experience or understanding it is very different from expressing it. Wat I ask is practical application or a methodic way of representing experiences. Like describing character's life in a way as to lead the reader to a point, or leaving only indirect signs, thing like dat

Nah, I can't criticize you for trying to find out your creativity and how can you implement. There is really no best way, when they say there is some correct way of doing something, wat they really mean is dat there is a correct stylistic choices dat will be recognized as uncontroversial and standard for some sensibilities of a culture or critics. So, dunno. I'm too lazy to analyze anything in depth, when I read and see some cool pattern or idea, I just steal it and dats it. This is just how creativity works for me. I guess this has something to do with internal and external motivations, but either way, there is no bad motivation so…

Well, probably you noticed dat I leave out style and aesthetic on purpose here. So, for this moment, I only ask about something dat isn't controversial. So, how would I write a book? So, assuming the writing software is all set up and you can generate a PDF, then I would use wat I call flow. The structure is a naturally occurring thing if you follow the flow of a story as you intended it to Post too long. Click here to view the full text.

if anyone can make a good story then why are there so many bad ones? when you read michael crichton's jurassic park (reading it atm) you are like damn… this guy can write some text pretty well.. its not a feeling you have when reading whatever.

it also matters what the story is all about. for me, i like it a lot when there is educative things in the story. for instance in dan brown book there is always education about science and different topics of study. its embedded in the story in a way that it feels easily approachable. a standalone book about science or study of something can be boring, put when you put it in a thriller-mystery story it immediately becomes interesting.

the other thing i like is european and russian classics, especially the kinds that deal with existentialism or similar. Because, well, its just my topic of interest.

one of the greatest finnish books, the egyptian, is great because it makes you feel like you are genuinely in ancient egypt. There are other books of that genre, stories that take place in ancient world, but not all of them can deliver that same feeling.

So, there are many ways to write for sure, but not all stories are equally great. So, you are right to say that anybody can write a story. although, most people dont, so is that really true after all? we cant really know to a certainty.

eh, what is a practical application or method to write an experience of a person? thats really hard to say. i think one way is just to take notes of what kind of character is the one you are writing about. then when you write you check them every now and then, and really think if that person would say or do a thing using your reference. But you also need to keep some balance, people dont always act rationally or according to their beliefs, so there is that, also people are influenced by the events and stuff that happen to them along the way, so there is also that.

when you read 20 pendergast books you kinda get frustrated, because you would think there should be more character development after all those events, but there isnt much. Those are great books for sure, but if i were to critize them that would be one the criticisms i would give.

Well, it is simple. Writing good is possible for everyone, but writing bad is a first step for everyone who wants to write good. Because writing good is a difficult skill to get, not many succeed but many try. That's why there are many bad story, but dat is a good thing, because this is how all good stories start(but yeah, everyone can write good if they can make to do list I stand by dat)

Dunno. I never read Dan Brown book but I'm skeptical of this sentiment… but it's true so watever. Some books are clearly written to educate but not directly, but I guess dat is all book in a way. Harry Potter book for example teaches dat slavery is good and Christian values. Well, nah, dat is some interpretation territory

Well, not to get too autistic here, but relation between book reader and book writer is unequal. You might think dat writer has more power over own work, but dat is not true, the reader has the power of interpretation and actually reading it. Example of wat I mean is Heart of Darkness book. Originally, people thought it was anti colonial book but now most agree dat it doesn't condemn colonialism in any way and it is actually pro colonial, dat the book wants better colonies. The point? Intratextual relations decide which book is good and which isn't, you arent born with a good book decider gene. Dat is to say, you shouldnt discard bad stories exactly because of this two reasons. One, you have the power of interpretation and it is your responsibility as a fluent reader to interpret text charitably, the best way you can think of. Second, there is value beyond societally encoded values, by which I mean the bounday good or bad is not clearly justified thing dat you should care about, at least, I woulnt, for the reason dat when I issue my judgement of good I don't know the full extent of my bias and context and wat exactly shapes my perception and when I issue bad judgment it is the same, I don't know consciously why my sensibilities are shaped to reject this something the status of good in the current moment(why should you care about this, especially when it sounds like I invalidate the whole of your experience as a socialized person for judging anything? I only want you to realize dat when you judge something to be bad and reject any story, you don't just reject some text, you reject a whole person dat is the structure of any text)Post too long. sure, everything has to do with person interpretation, but we judge things based on what we like. so in the end i was just telling what i like, not even necessary saying what i dont like. you can argue about meaning and interpretation, but you cant really argue taste. the best you can do is make one re-evaluate something from different angle. The books i talk about are mostly written in a way where there are no much hidden meaning in text anyway, so the interpretations of them are not vastly different. thrill and adventure are valuable on themselves, even if you dont even think about the values and philosophy that the book may be presenting.

well, yes, naturally you cant purely represent anyone or anything in text format, but that is not short-coming, its a good thing actually.

yeah, i have thought about art and shape and all dat, but its a whole concept of its own. you know how in hieroglyphs they would decorate and draw a circle around pharaohs name and all dat. it is to message that he is divine person, not like any ordinary guy, and you are reminded of it constantly. dat is a very practical example of how you create meaning with shape or color. in north korea they still do it, they write kim name with bold or bigger text..

but if we move from talking about writing itself to mere story telling then we could talk about million different mediums to tell a story. talking about how meaning materializes is just extra complexity, which i dont think is necessary to think about when writing a story. i think its more beneficial to not be aware and thinking complexity all the time, or otherwise you wont be able to produce tangible text.

they say that sometimes when l.ron hubbard wrote he typed so fast on his typewriter that there were sweat dripping on his face. that may be too extreme, but the ideal is to just get in to that flow state and write.

File: 1763308915589.jpg (1.07 MB, 2103x2947, d_10209416 - a7aa276e9f257….jpg)

I can argue about taste. I can try to make objective judgments not only on taste of individual people but also on books themselves. I disagree dat different angle is all wat I can do, but, watever

That's very interesting thing about pharaon hieroglyph… Though, wat I meant is a bit different than dat. For to know the divinity of pharaon dat is circle, you first need to know wat the circle means. Yeah, I forgot wat I wanted to say

Eh, you are right, but how are you gonna improve your writing? I mean, whole point I'm making of how text can be improved or interpreted better by a method of some analysis. I mean, sure, flow is very cool. But it only can do so much… Sometimes, you'll not be able to write wat you want or it will turn out not in the way you intend it. Like I have creativity and imagination, but the text isn't going well. And how can you improve dat and wat creativity means? Is being able to express wat you have in mind is part of creativity or is it a more experience based technical skill?

So, I dunno. There is no bad method for writing, really bad case is not having a method at all. Sure, some can take a typewriter and write holy text. Most of people write into the drawer though, and I think you shouldn't assume that wat they wrote is subpar or worse than published work. But I guess wat I say ain't gonna make muvh sense any way
