>>178409Eh, yeah, dats wat I say… I read that Dwarf Fortress could be optimized a lot and from guy who just wanna make game perspective I think it's inspirational to know that there is game all say cool but developer weren't really big maths fan but still made it in end…
Eh, ideas and structures aren't really uhhh private, like, property? Unless they are intellectual property or patent? Either way, you can't hide idea, so, it no surprising that guy is gonna make better Bejeweled… Because if you really think about it, then there isn't really a way to make games without using some other game structure as base. There is shooter, and all shooter has first person view and gun. There must be ancestor to this and from then onward it been rereplicated… Then there are mutated ideas, which still have ancestor but they diverge significantly from original… I think it's just natural progress… So, I guess creating something really new isn't dat easy, unless everything has single ancestor, then I guess everything is just permutation of mutations… Well, why people choose to play some games over the other is very interesting question though…
No direct plan? Well, but that's best, I didn't like to have structure to my programming either, I just do it the way I feel like doing, watever time… Though, I guess keeping all story in memory gonna be bad idea, so, if I were to commit doing game I would really open text file and write Shrekspeare…
Eh, nah, never use dat. I just assume 3D is gonna be more complicated than 2D and don't think about it… You might say that create 3D asset is simpler, but 2D math is simpler, so, it very tough choice… Though, with 3D, you can make very cool top down game, 3rd person game, so, I dunno… If I ever to make 3D game, I want it to look like Mario 64, very cool… Maybe I should try Blender…
