This seems a strange way to describe someone who fought at the Somme, who lost nearly all his closest friends in battle, who drank the nectar of ancient poetry with C. S. Lewis, who wholly & irrevocably re-invented the fantasy genre

pretty much , i mean a kit of his war takes is about his time working as an ambulance driver on the front line during ww1
but he always hated that because of successive migrations of invaders kinda destroyed english mythology, so he created a new one
but its a very british mythology not english ironically
product of his time and thinking
