The other day (quite a bit of time ago, IIRC when /spook/ got destroyed or something) he was talking as he got some kinda daily backups. I guess that day was decided that it wasn't easy enough to use backups to restore just one board (if I understand correctly, server backups store like complete server FS, with DB and all and when you recover it you recover the whole system to a specific point, which means all DB and all the pages - cannot pick what gets restored and what doesn't)

Yes that's exactly how a restore point from a cpanel twerks if I'm not mistaken.
Daily save points from the last 30 days, full db wipe/restore, etc

You could in theory choose what to restore but code is messy and intertwined so yeah good luck restoring the content from one board only

Anyway if hosting provider has this service (because there's basically 0% chance adamy does any kind of backups himself) in this case the restore wipe would be entirely justified imhotep.
