EXCLUSIVE To Iceland Harry Ramsden’s Battered Jumbo Pork Sausages Review” and it’s from the channel
Real Ale Craft Beer (a Brit*sh guy named Simon who spends his time reviewing craft beers and frozen food like he’s a goddamn grease sommelier).
The guy records in 4K Ultra HD and gets as excited as a kid watching porn for the first time because he found at Iceland (a Brit*sh frozen-food supermarket) some jumbo
battered pork sausages from the brand
'Harry Ramsden’.
Harry Ramsden’s is a famous
English fish & chips chain (the posh version of corner taco stands, but with fish and fries).
These sausages are exclusive to
Iceland: four
jumbo pork pieces wrapped in batter (that crispy coating from chip shops), packed with no extra plastic (the guy celebrates it like it’s an ecological achievement).
He takes them out of the package, shows them raw (they look really fucking juicy and big), preheats the oven to gas mark 5 (around 190°C) and puts them in for 25 minutes.
When they come out there’s a bit of melted fat, one end has burst open (the sausage stuck out a little, like when the chili falls out of your taco), and the batter looks golden and crispy.
Then he cuts one in half: the inside of the sausage is a pale grayish color (not the bright pink of his childhood ones), the batter is crunchy but came pre-cooked (it’s not the fresh batter they dunk in the deep fryer at a real chippy), and the taste is… “
okay, it’s okay.”
He says the sausage is
greasy, flavorful and falls apart a bit, the batter crunches
nicely but doesn’t come anywhere
close to the level of a fresh one from a fish & chips stand.
He complains that it’s impossible to replicate the deep fryer taste with an oven, but admits it’s decent for when you’re drunk and get a sudden craving for something quick from the freezer.
In the end he gives it
7 out of 10, says he still has three more in the freezer and that if you’ve had a few beers and get hungry, then don’t hold back.
He finishes by asking for likes, comments and subscriptions like every desperate YouTuber.
In the comments from 2021-2026 (they’re still the same) people are divided: some say “
it’s shit,” others
praise it with curry sauce, someone explains that the old pink color came from cereal fillers and artificial colorings that are no longer used, and several make fun of it looking like a dead finger.
In summary: it’s an honest, somewhat boring but entertaining review of British frozen food that tries to imitate the sacred grease of the chip shop and only half succeeds. It’s not a conspiracy video or quantum physics; it’s pure “
eat sausage, rate it and fuck off.”
