“NEW Chef’s Special Curry Review YIKES!!” and it’s from a fag bald Brit*sh YouTuber called
Bald Foodie Guy (Gareth). It’s one of those supermarket frozen-food reviews he does almost every day.
The product he’s trying is a
frozen curry from the
Iceland supermarket chain (a cheap UK grocery store, kind of like a budget version of a big-box store but colder and sadder).
The official name of the product is:
Chef’s Special Deluxe Chicken Jalfrezi with Garlic and ChiliIt costs
£4 and comes in a 400 gram package. According to the packaging it’s “premium,” “no emulsifiers, no artificial ingredients or preservatives,” and they give it a
4-chili heat rating (meaning it’s supposedly pretty spicy).
Gareth starts as usual, super friendly with his “
How are you all doing?” voice.
He goes to Iceland, spots the new product, buys it, and takes it home to tear it apart on camera.
1.
Packaging analysisHe reads every ingredient, the allergens, the nutrition info, and the cooking instructions.
He chuckles a bit at the
“Chef’s Special” claim and asks, “Who the hell is the chef? A robot or what?”
He notes that the chicken makes up 35% of the product and that it’s “marinated in tikka” with onions, peppers, and chili.
2.
Opening and cookingHe opens the frozen tray and notices a decent chunk of butter on top (he says “looks like they dropped a whole pat of butter on it”). He cooks the whole thing in the microwave: 6 minutes, stirs it, then another 3 minutes. The smell is pretty good at first (“smells strongly of garlic”).
3.
The taste test (this is where it gets good)
When he actually tries it, his face changes. He says it’s
"really sweet' (it has 12 grams of sugar per serving, pure madness for a curry).
The chicken comes out
slimy (that classic microwave chicken texture that feels like it was jerked off inside a plastic bag).
The heat is a
complete joke: they rated it 4 chilies and he says it’s very mild, barely spicy at all.
You can taste the garlic and the onions, but the overall flavor feels
weak and disappointing. It doesn’t deliver the punch he expected from a jalfrezi.
In the end he rates it a 5 out of 10 and clearly says:
“Chef, you’re fired.”And he adds that he would
not buy it again. In short, the faggot bald guy bought a
cheap supermarket frozen curry that was sold as “chef’s special” and “nice and spicy,” but it turned out to be
slimy chicken, way too sweet, with almost no real chili heat and a weak flavor.
It’s the classic “supermarket frozen garbage vs expectations” review where the guy gets a little hopeful from the packaging, cooks it, tastes it, and ends up saying “this shit is mid, I’m never buying it again.”
The “YIKES!!” in the title already warns you it’s not going to end well. Pure content about disappointing microwave food.
