The video is titled ASTONISHING LIDL Vs ALDI Cheeseburger - Head To Head, and it was uploaded by the channel Bald Foodie Guy (a bald Brit*sh guy who spends his time comparing food from budget supermarkets as if it were a boxing match).
He went shopping at Lidl and Aldi, discount chains that are stocked with frozen goods, and picked up some Quarter Pounder-style cheeseburgers (the big, thick kind).
From Aldi, he bought the “Specially Selected” version: a pack of four featuring West Country cheddar, onions, and 100% British beef.
They’re Red Tractor-certified, gluten free, and include a “traffic light” nutritional labeling system. Price: £3.59.
From Lidl, he grabbed the “Deluxe” Quarter Pounders, which also contain cheese, onions, 100% British beef, and West Country cheddar. The packaging and claims are nearly identical. Price: £3.39 (20 pence cheaper, so, Lidl wins on price right out of the gate).
Both packs weigh 454 grams, contain 76% meat and 12% cheddar cheese, share the same allergens (milk), and can be cooked the same way: in an air fryer, on a grill, in an oven, or in a frying pan.
He places them side by side, opens the frozen packages, and points out that the Aldi patties look a bit pinker with more visible onion, while the Lidl ones feature yellower cheese and more finely minced onion.
Then, he pops them into the air fryer, cooks them, cuts them in half, and starts tasting them like he’s a judge on *MasterChef*.
Taste test results:
• Aldi: A massive punch of onion flavor, it practically hits you right in the face. Juicy and well seasoned meat, but the onion flavor completely dominates everything else.
•Lidl: creamier, with a more noticeable cheese presence; the onion is there, but it’s not overpowering. It still tastes like real meat and doesn’t shrink as much.
In the end, the guy declares Lidl the winner: it’s cheaper, slightly better balanced, and “creamier.” He says he likes both, but Lidl takes the crown.
He mentions that he rarely goes to Lidl because it’s quite a trek (a 45–50 minute drive), but it was worth it. He wraps up by encouraging everyone to give it a try and check out his playlist featuring other burger comparisons.
It’s a classic British supermarket “head to head” video, no unnecessary drama, just a straightforward look at the packaging, ingredients, price, and on-camera taste tests.
It’s just a bald guy telling you which frozen burger is your best bet so you don’t overspend or end up with an upset stomach.
