The video is titled I Found Plymouth’s CHEAPEST Full English Breakfast… Just £8.50! and was uploaded by the channel Rich Rates Food on October 5, 2026.

It’s the first episode of his “Plymouth City Takeover” series, where the guy sets out to hunt down the best (and cheapest) breakfasts, fish and chips, and hidden culinary gems in Plymouth, England.

He arrives at Lisbon Cafe, a family-run Portuguese café that’s been operating in Plymouth for nine years.

He’d been asking the locals, “Where can I get the cheapest decent breakfast?” and everyone kept pointing him toward this spot. He orders the classic Full English Breakfast for £8.50.

The plate comes absolutely loaded:

•Two sausages
•Two thick strips of bacon
•Two eggs
•Two hash browns
•Mushrooms
•Roasted tomato
•Baked beans
•Buttered toast

The guy breaks down every single item as if he were doing a Michelin review, but with a totally casual, "regular guy" vibe.

He says the sausages aren't anything extraordinary, but they taste good and don't have that cheap, plastic flavor.

The mushrooms are thinly sliced, well-cooked, and plentiful, none of that stingy "two measly slices" nonsense. The bacon is thick, juicy on the inside, and crispy at the edges… "the best of both worlds," he says.

He absolutely loved the hash browns and even gave a piece to his son (who’s there as an off-camera guest).

Then comes the funniest part: the guy hates tomatoes. He calls it "devil food" and admits it’s the first time in his life he’s eaten a roasted tomato as part of an English breakfast for YouTube.

He swallows it anyway ("to break down barriers") and says, "It’s okay, but I prefer the canned kind." Purely unnecessary drama, but entertaining nonetheless.

Then he chats with Carlos, the owner. Carlos explains that they’ve been open for nine years, that consistency (maintaining the same quality) is the key, and that customers keep coming back because they know they won't get ripped off.

The atmosphere is local—Saturday early risers, family friendly, and unpretentious.

Rich leaves very happy; he says he was expecting some cheap rubbish but was pleasantly surprised: good quality, good service, a good price, and he even felt welcome.

He gives the atmosphere a 10 and calls the price an absolute bargain. He wraps up by inviting the folks in Plymouth to recommend more spots and announces that his next destination will be Exeter.

It’s a simple, positive food review video, no toxic drama, just "check out this hidden gem that’s worth a visit."
