The video is titled Is This The BEST VALUE SANDWICH In The UK? and was uploaded by the channel Greeno Eats; run by a British guy who reviews all kinds of food, ranging from high-end restaurants to hole in the wall joints and small town butcher shops.
In this episode (posted around early October 2026, with about 16,000 views and over a thousand likes when I checked), the guy heads to Wales (specifically a small town called Bedwas, near Caerphilly) and walks into Buckland’s (or Bucklands) Family Butchers.
He kicks things off with the classic line: “They say it always rains in Wales… but today is a bloody brilliant day.”
He explains that 15 or 20 years ago, he lived and worked nearby; whenever he went out for lunch, he’d hit up this family run butcher shop because they made these massive hot roast rolls, beef, turkey, pork, lamb, whatever was on offer that day, topped with sage and onion stuffing and gravy.
These weren't crappy supermarket sandwiches; they were big sub-style rolls packed with slow-cooked, shredded meat prepared right there in the shop.
After all this time, he’s back to see if they’re still as amazing as he remembers (because nostalgia can play tricks on you and leave you looking like a fool).
He walks in and orders one beef roll and one turkey roll, both with stuffing and gravy. While he waits, he gets tempted and picks up a few extras:
• A Scotch egg (a hard-boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat and breaded) for £2.99
• A pasty (a Cornish-style savory pastry) for £1.89
• A corned beef slice (a local-style slice of corned beef loaf)
Total cost: £14.77. He says it’s a bargain because, in many places, a single sandwich costs nearly ten pounds.
He steps outside (it’s so damn windy his Scotch egg almost blows away), unwraps the rolls, and starts tasting them.
He raves about the beef one: tender, juicy, shredded meat; the gravy adds moisture; the stuffing pairs amazingly well (even if it’s not traditional with beef) and the bread is fresh and soft.
The turkey one is good but a bit drier (as is usually the case with turkey), though the gravy and stuffing save it.
Then he tries the Scotch egg (he notes it’s a classic picnic style, with a hard boiled egg and real sausage meat not the supermarket kind) and mentions the pasty and the corned beef slice as tasty local options.
He concludes that, yes, these rolls are just as good as he remembered, and at £4 each packed with real butcher.quality meat; it’s one of the best value for money deals he’s seen in the UK. He finishes by letting his camera operator have a taste, and they both agree the beef one is the winner.
It’s a classic, laid-back, nostalgic food review video: the guy chats while he eats, shows close-ups of the food, and shares his honest opinions.
