The video is titled “£20 Indian Fish & Chips in Birmingham… Worth It? | Indian Brewery Review” and comes from a British channel called Rich Rates Food.
It was uploaded around September 25, 2026, and is a food review typical of those guys who go around trying restaurants and rating everything like *MasterChef* judges but with less pretentiousness and more of a "is this worth it or am I getting ripped off?" attitude.
The guy visits The Indian Brewery Snowhill (Arch 15 & 16, Livery Street, Birmingham, right under the railway arches near Snow Hill station).
The place is a craft brewery combined with a modern Indian/street food restaurant.
The lad orders:
Indian Fish & Chips (the video's highlight dish): cod in masala batter, masala fries, curry sauce, and a ton of cilantro. Price: £19.95.
Fat Naan Naughty Chicken: a thick naan loaded with butter chicken, salad, masala mayo, pink sauce, and toppings.
A pint of their own beer, called Peacock (which they brew in-house).
He eats while offering real time commentary, critiquing textures, flavors, and portion sizes.
In the end, he gives both the fish & chips and the overall experience a 7.5/10. His main verdict is:
The fish is fresh, tender, and well cooked. The fries have a decent spicy kick.
The curry sauce is tasty (though he notes it tastes more like Chinese-style curry than Indian).
But… the "Indian touch" on the fish boils down to little more than fresh cilantro. He can barely taste the masala in the batter and complains that, for nearly 20 pounds, he expected more authentic Indian flavor.
He says it feels like traditional fish & chips having an identity crisis: they just threw on some cilantro and a few spices, and that was it. It also compares somewhat to the famous “green fish and chips” from another spot in Birmingham (Bizans Grill or similar), which is cheaper and has more hype on YouTube.
