don't have huge sample size but few other finns there were ppl working for projects contracted to finish firms etc. and the few ppl attached to embassy. dad taught at university in collaboration w/ some finish institute
the perk of going there for individual in those scenarios is getting pretty good quality of life. we lived in some compound (owned by some finnish organisation or institute not sure) w/ few houses, gardens (mango trees etc), pool, sauna, surrounded by big electrified wall. native guards, gardener, housekeeper. dunno if compound is right word, but it was just in suburbs, rectangular 100m*150m, adjoined by others like it. we lived in one of the houses full time, but the other houses were occupied for few weeks or months at a time by same few ppl when they were coming and going from different parts of the country etc
most other expats who i saw in lusaka lived similarly. often when kid had birthday party there was bounce castle slide thing rented to where they lived
