Now that you mention it, I have this friend who used to drink twice every week, was violent, has like 15 tattoos, has/had psychiatric problems, burned down a small burger truck in high school because they messed up his order, never finished high school, got kicked out of his mom's house because of drug issues, etc

Now he is happily married and has 2 children with his turbo catholic wife, upstanding member of society, got certified in cisco, has a good paying job, and is trying to start his small business even.

Anyway, point is he doesn't seem to be the kind of guy who suddenly found Christ in his life or whatever, he would never believe in that crap, but he has to larp a bit for his wife.
I wonder if larping enough or faking it long enough you begin to believe in that or if you live your entire life larping that shit.
I imagine it is kinda like when gay men used to marry women so they wouldn't get completely ostracized by society but deep down they were always gay, I have trouble believing that if you larp well enough you actually end up changing what you sincerely believe.

Yeah at some point another friend in common actually showed the youtube video lol. I think I found it but I could be mistaken. Either was it is some pre 2012 tier youtube video recorded by a budget phone in the 3rd world by a teenager.

Not sure if he got kicked out or if his parents just decided to change him to my high school afterwards to avoid any trouble.

Yeah, I've always believed in God.

I have Catholic brain wiring installed from childhood and never had any reason to change it. I've always been good at the believing part of religion.

I've never been the type to change my beliefs due to extreme life events or lifestyle changes. Been to weird camps, many drug rehabs, had other religious partners, etc.

Only change recently is that I actually go to church all Sundays instead of like just holidays and I pray nightly except only a few times a year.

A woman's influence is needed in a man's life, though. Tbh most guys on their own would probably enjoy themselves way more living the sorta life that your friend was living. I think religion is mainly in decline in the West etc mostly because of a decline in marriage and raising families (especially larger ones).
