Nah, thats a lie. Though, the data centers use a lot of water but not as much as to drain seas. Activists turn attention to the environmental problems of them because it is easier to rally people. But data centers destroy local communities, with the current AI push. Main problem with datacenters is no gain at all for people who have to live nearby, it creates no jobs, all it does is draw clean drinking water and use so much electricity, that it increases electricity prices for everyone in the locality. There is no hysteria, the problem is really pressing to stop them building the centers at this speed

Nah, after theyve been built, job creation is minimal. Most datacenters are almost humanless, maybe you get a single guard and one overseer, but no more than that. Benefit for the community is only negative, there is also secrecy rules, so even if there some few job oppenings, not every one can qualify in deep country. (Even on the stage of building, mostly migrant labour will be used in construction. There is very little gain in jobs to the local community)
