Also so far this world cup I have enjoyed Australia. They play haramball in a way that's actually entertaining and refreshing for the current divegrass haramball meta. Also Aussies have really tried to actively improve and become more relevant in divegrass despite Australia having no people and divegrass not being a popular sport over there. Shame FIFA corruption denied them hosting the 2022 world cup which their federation shilled hard for cuz of Qatar bribery.
I always have supported Croatia but their players are too old now, shame they lost their best shot last world cup. Watching 40 year old Modric trying to carry the team now is real sad.
As for Mexico… Well, Mexico is playing okay so far ngl, altho Mexico always chokes when faced against good teams. But I refuse to support Mexico cuz I don't like the Mexican federation…
There's way too much jewing for profits over athletic development, Mexican top league is full of Colombians and there're very few good local players. Considering all the money divegrass generates locally, it's a shame the federation doesn't invest back to the cunt, not even for consistent athletic development, so I refuse to support them.
Ye corruption is a common trope worldwide yes but most leagues do at least invest somewhat in athletic development, like most smaller and poorer sudaca countries like e.g. Colombia have actually invested in local athletic development and actually have good players now, unlike Mexico.
Like I remember watching this video about what happened with the players who won the sub 17 world cup, one of those lost media mexican moved to the U.S. and became a construction worker of all things :DD
In general most did fuck all but continue training. Just no money and no reward. Same reason why Mexico is so bad at sports/olympics/etc. I would like Mexico to do a truly shit performance so there's actual reason for changing the status quo.
Even the US has surprassed Mexico semi consistently the last 2 decades in divegrass cuz the US has actually invested in athletic development themselves as well. It was really fun seeing Meximutts cope hard every time Landon Donovan whooped Mexico's ass.
Like as much as I think the U.S. is a political shitshow I think it would be nice seeing the U.S. advance.
