that should be everything other than the few multiplayer games

dunno how expensive they're in mexico but ur really not morally obliged to support some devs in wealthier countries. it's just crazy idea. japan when poor also didn't give shit about others' copyright etc, bc it just doesn't make any sense

I will reddit the shit out of this but don't care.

What even was the purpose of the star wars blockade though? I only recall it not working anyway because the kid and the poopoo stepper made it through.

Just watch the damn movie. Oh wait you hate it, what is even the point of this question

  No. 268019 [PM]

>>267969
I don't hate it but objectively it isn't good. If I hated it I would completley ignore it existed and don't even give in any mental energy into it like e.g. episode VIII.
Prequeds had some stuff going on for them and phantom menace was probably the best of the prequel trilogy. Had some cool visuals, settings, designs, etc. People hate on jarjar but as a bsr kid I didn't mind him that much.

Still not gonna rewatch, I already watched it plenty of times as a kid/teen and I never got the point of the blockade.

So, I remember it was something along the lines of starving naboo to force them into signing some trade treaty, but like everyone in Naboo seemed just fine lol.

Like the more thought you give it the sillier it sounds.
Imagine the U.S. blockaded Costa Rica or some shit to force them into signing a treaty into NAFTA…
If you want to trade with Costa Rica, wouldn't blockading kinda defeat the entire purpose of you wanting to trade with them? Guess you could kinda make an analogy with Drumpf trying to blockade Iran or whatever.

trade federation had some demands or sth ("taxation of trade routes"), + were being manipulated by palpatine. u could ask the same thing about the separatists, wat did they actually want and were unhappy w/, other than vaguely more power or profits, but it's irrelevant for the viewer
>>268019
prequels r cool bc they introduce so much new stuff

tho i never cared for them as kid, when all the other kids were having their gay lightsaber battles w/ sticks in the school forest or talking about them. only started caring about star wors after seeing 4 and 5 and going 'woah this is actually good'. 3 is actually good too (but requires context of original trilogy), and 2 is visually pretty interesting
for me it's 4>3>5>2>>1>6 (6 so low bc i really detest that kind of rehashing. the disney ones i have no interest in either, for same reason)
>but like everyone in Naboo seemed just fine lol
after they were defeated in the end
>Imagine the U.S. blockaded Costa Rica or some shit to force them into signing a treaty into NAFTA…
usa is (or was for few decades) sole superpower on earth it's not good comparison. in star wors they had combines or sth ('trade federation', 'techno union', 'retail caucus', dumb names), that wanted more power i guess, and powerful enough to contract droid militaries
better comparison is opec doing oil embargoes in the 70s (influenced dune and star wors i guess)

>opec doing oil embargoes in the 70s
But that was exactly reverse situation…
Like the desert people rejected selling the oil and thus the U.S. considered intervening militarily and seizing the oil fields so that the oil flow trade would continue.

Like if you are a big ass trade federation you WANT other nations/people to trade so you can make a profit.

Let me put it again:
If you are a rich trade empire and you boycott others YOU are the one who stops making a profit, whereas the poorer and smaller tribes/nations/etc will be the ones boycott your trade empire because you are jewing the shit out of them. See: opec embargo, opium wars, persian tabacco protest, and literally every boycott in human history.

I mean yeah it's an over analysis but still curious about the official lore workings.
Like if the trade empire wants to tax the trade routes wouldn't Naboos be the ones who have every reason to boycott the trade federation? And then the trade federation would force Naboo to trade profitable desert people goods through armed intervention?

>u could ask the same thing about the separatists, wat did they actually want and were unhappy w/

This one makes far more sense actually.
Like IIRC separatists wanted to pull out of "the republic" because of perceived corruption, bureacracy, etc. Kinda like UK, Huchi and the like wanting to pull out of the EU or whatever.

>2 is visually pretty interesting

I think 2 is the worst one because it's just 2000s computer generated slop. Also the entire romance arc between padme and anakin was awful. It's probably the worst and most boring arc of romantic interest/development in any media ever and it was like 1/4 of the movie. Autist talks about hating sand in some computer generated scenery of space switzerland. Altho in retrospective I can totally relate with a male character being retarded and autistic and not realizing when woman is trying to hook up on me so whatever.
Oh yeah the battle in the arena was really cool tho. Like it's computer-generated slop but the choreography was cool.
Also 2000s era CGI was wild and it's fair to be nostalgic over it. Modern movies won't have some poorly animated Count Chocula ass motherfucker :DD

>6 so low bc i really detest that kind of rehashing

no the desert ppl wanted to sell oil under more favourable circumstances, for which they were momentarily willing to do embargo for
it's like saying strikes don't make sense, if u want better pay just work more not less duh. ur using the only weapon at ur disposable basically, even if it momentarily hurts u too
more wat doesn't make sense was wat was the rationale for a land invasion. from their pov i mean (i know otherwise it was palpatine manipulating them or sth to cause a crisis)
>This one makes far more sense actually.
i just mean that similarly their exact concerns were never voiced or shown, not that it wouldn't make sense. was there republic bureaucracy and glut and stagnation or wat. we only saw jedis and senate being kinda slow and inefficient
> 2000s computer generated slop
it was cool for its time and is still watchable. was visually most memorable of the prequels to me, naboo looking good and the clones introduced (ppl never mention the clones when talking about 2 when that's the point basically), more of coruscant
biggest issue of prequels was they weren't properly paced (or the story for the first half of it just not interesting enough), so 3rd ended up having most of the stuff ppl liked
>elaborate
it's just not interesting. there's 2nd death star, and they go destroy it. they already did that. new stuff is there's some little bear ppl, some squid admiral, jabba has yacht, and few new ships. none of which is cool or interesting enough to make up for it
every other one introduces new interesting stuff, visually or otherwise. episode 5 the most
