>>274710IDK, like I don't know how it is *really* set up but basically IIRC vichan has some static content (webpages and files on the filesystem) and also some database tables which are used for page generation and basically if db is broken it's fucked. One would have to restore the /spook/ database selectively (i.e. not touching other tables) and then put all the files for /spook/ where they used to be (again, not touching other boards). If it's daily backups then it's only gonna be restored at the moment the backup was made (still probably some loss but better than nothing)
It might need some manual tinkering as well as one might need to bring the whole imageboard down for "repairs" (what I have in mind is pretty invasive and better not be done on live site). So yea, I am not too surprised when Kotia says it's not going to happen (too much pain w)

honestly i wouldnt bother with it, because there is no built in functionality for it as far as i know.
you would need to manually restore only posts from specific board, which means you would need to do a script which inserts specific rows from backup file including possible relations (i dont remember vichan db structure) and then you need to restore all the files from some backup (is there any?)
if you manage to vibecode it, then at least understand every step you are doing so you dont fuck up the entire site
