After finding out that The Great Wall of China weren't built continuously but in sections, I have a newfound Respect for The Great Wall of China.

Have you heard locals routinely stole the bricks to build their homes with? Large parts of the wall you see today is new and rebuilt thanks to this

I didn't hear dat, but to be honest it wouldn't surprise me. As in provincial China there wouldn't be highly moral peasants, for them Peking is like city on a cloud any way. After all, they would never see Beijing. But the whole idea of building this wall as sections is mind blowing, like, they built it to protect themselves from the barbarians but wat prevented the barbarians just going and destroying the sections or something. Just sheer amount of labour that is needed and mobilization of human resources, not only dat, but continuous motivation to build it. Maybe The Great Wall being a symbol of China makes big sense, because it is literally a symbol of cooperation betweem all the people in the country for a single cause… (Why did they decide to build it like dat? I dunno, something has to do with emperors not being exactly reasonable. People wouldn't question it though, after all, most of the time they didn't even know their emperor or if he was even alive.)

Eh, the idea of wall maybe dumb but how it came to be is very cool. Are we building walls to separate us from danger, okay, but why people are danger?…
I like this Gengis Khan dude. He build big empire and was a big businessman, but maybe he was a bit too harsh sometimes… Well, nomadic lifestyle is very cool, you are kinda free and stuff, live in nature and can just take horse and run around. In Mongolia, all kid liked horse. It's true! They make horse riding contest and stuff, well, they let kid ride horse too. (It's pretty safe for kid.) Yeah, Mongolia is pretty chill, big vibe, even today. In Ulan Bator, it is difficult to live, especially in the winter as coal is being burn for heating. Which shows that Mongolians, while still having some infrastructure and stuff, they live very close to nature, they live with nature.
One interesting thing about Mongolia is art. Mothers could sing well for entertainment and religious stuff, so, in Soviet times Mongolian singers were very valuable. They have their own script, which is quite cool and difficult to write. And horses, well, wrestling, there a lot of art in Mongolia… Yeah, they are very cool, even though throughout history their methods were known to be unwholesome, they were extremely tolerating, and the areas they ruled were safe and peaceful.

the idea of mongol is cool because their strength was in uniting the tribes

like if you were in european castle at that time it was easy to laugh at nomadic people

"look at that reindeer herder what a loser"

its funny until they all decide to unite and do war together

Chinese people do the most wonderful, beautiful things. There is nothing they cannot do.
