I could've write walls of text about each episode, but I decided just to stick with the central theme, though, I dunno which episode would be the most interesting one. Maybe baseball one? Or Xavier III one? It's very good anime, it's cool.
Michiko & Hatchin looks interesting, but lately I've been watching films. Maybe after dat.

Well, not anime, but I've been watching films daily. Today was Fargo and yesterday was No Country for Old Men. And gonna say, Fargo felt wery, uhhhh, heavily scripted? Dunno, like, I dunno, it's very weird movie. Maybe they just made them movies back in time though. They were both good though, but No Country for Old Men feels more free. That movie, however cruel it was, was great. It's a very lonely movie though, and you don't even notice the soundtrack… Anton got dat face mimic despite being crazy to the mf bone. Well, I want to watch some anime though…

While I've been lying sick on the bed, I watched Mononoke.
Mononoke is anime about an medicine pedler. Mysterious guy with elf looking ears, for the Japan of Mononoke, isn't a irregular sight. It would be weird if he was just another Kentarou Ogawa, that's not how it is, you'll probably never find truly Japanese looking faces in Mononoke. From blonde haired blue eyed women to dark tanned face girls, there all the characters supposed to be unique. Kinda. Actually, you will find Japanese looking faces, that was a lie.
What does the medicine pedler do? Well, you'll never see him selling medicine, that's for sure. That's just a covert way of saying that he supposed to save people. So, actually, he was a detective, and a damn good one in fact, since he solved every case he took on. Not once people asked for his help, but he was always ready to appear and solve the mystery, and frequently it has something to do with the Mononoke. Which are, basically, kinda spirits that bring ill and unluck. How does he do that? He has this stuff, like the sword of Taima, and the weighters, and, like, the talismans, so, not only that he was a detective, he was basically an onmyoji. That kinda guy he is, he is everything.
Being a detective is tough, you know that? When you thought the case was solved and the culprits apprehended, just the other episode there is a new case, and the medicine pedler without breaking a sweat takes it on and solves it flawlessly. A Japanese James Bond, that wat he is. In the end, nothing is known about him for sure. He's said to be just a medicine pedler.
Japan in Mononoke is world which exists only and purely in the art form. It has nothing to do with reality, and the anime doesn't even pretend that it does. That's how it was drawn and that's the treatment the characters received. More often than not there are no innocents in Mononoke and everyone has it's part to play, well, as a "guy who did bad". That's how the episodes are structured, they are supposed to be stage plays and the whole thing to be theatrical. So, in a sense, you wouldn't find reason in it, and all what's left is to trust medicine pedler on his word.
Mononoke begins with a stage play about kids. Well, it's not a stage play it's a staged play, but I'll leave the anal things that are so small and make so much difference behind me. Then it proceeds to tell all whole a bunch of stories. But for me, they made no sense. They didn't teach anything, there was hardly morale. That's because the medicine pedler is a robot, we don't know his motives, he's a psychopath, and alone he cannot exists without the side characters which have motives and emotional capacity. So, the characters and the medicine pedler represent a single whole, they merge together into a criminal, who not only would kill if it benefits them but also wants to be caught, want to be revealed.
Well, I have a lot more to say about it, but in short it was a great anime, but with the anime I have critique more often. I really like how the style has no apparent source of light, and only semantical light shadow tones in the train episodes.

>>157549Yeah, dat guy, he is like alien. Crazy guy.
Well, I also watched Michiko and Hatchin. It's great, it's about Latin America of sorts. I didn't knew much about Latin America so I looked it up and it mostly is set in Brazil, well, in the anime the country is called Diamandra. It has very complete world in a way, a very believable maybe. A pastor who takes in arms a gun and shoots with it a woman with a clear intent to kill, TWO TIMES, suffers no repercussion watsoever. And this sentence alone explains the anime, it's plot is quite simple, there is this girl Hana and the other girl Michiko who search for a father and loved one. So the story goes and tells what the heroines been through on this path. And gotta say, while it's brutal, it was interesting, it was great. Well, wat can I say more? It's about adventure and difficulties and how people overcome them even though the situation looks hopeless. Though, the anime is Asian centric, kinda.

I've stopped my movie watching for a bit and now watching Golden Kamuy. And damn, it's a bizzare story.
I mean, yeah, anime and all that. But why in Golden Kamuy everyone feels like an antihero, that everyone is a villain? The anime is about war, and the aftermath of it. Some loco soldiers looking for some looney gold, really, what are the odds of this happening? So, it feels more absurd, it feels too far stretched out, it feels alien and unreal, unbelievable and magic. Everytime when Sugimoto is in a dangerous situation, he shouts "I'm Sugimoto the Immortal" and always gets off easy.
And at the same time it's ruthless. Sugimoto, which should be more positive character, he's the one who skins the tattooed escaped prisoners. Asripa is just a hunter, but when Sugimoto is concerned that he couldn't finish the deer with one shot, she doesn't care, she says that it sucks because suffering will make deer meat isn't as good.
Though, Golden Kamuy is not about violence, even though that's what you'll see all the time. It's hard to understand about it is exactly, is it about the gold or the solders who couldn't adapt in the society? I dunno, I really dunno. For me it's absurd. But it's not absurd because it tries to be more real, it tries to tell a story with some truth into it, some morale. So, it's just an example of how even if the story itself is ruthless, there is plenty comedy still, and maybe that's what the anime wants to say. That even if you think you lost everything, even if you don't feel complete, that's not a reason to let your hopes down. Perhaps this anime is about survival and what does it cost. But I wouldn't know. All I would know that hunters in this anime are not in particular are concerned for the forest, even though everything supposed to be a kamuy. The Ainu optic is very weird, it's about how we are all different, sure, Golden Kamuy shows a bit different attitude towards living than usual.

Been watching lots of anime lately but my training has been too tiring to use my phone during it.
>>161367I'm 7 episodes in and so far I am liking it enough to finish it. Hate the main character but CC and the terrorists are cool. I kinda find the Gundam parts superfluous so far. Also, I hear it gets better in the second half so we'll see.
It's actually a pretty good anime for hard rides because the English dub is good enough that I can put my head down and listen for half of it.
I am also on episode 9 of All Out! which is finally getting decently motivational. It's a bit like Hinomaru Sumo but not as good.
I'm all caught up on Nier Automata which is hood as always. I might replay the game with mods soon.
All caught up on Too Many Losing Heroines and it's still a fun HS romance anime that looks great so a fantastic way to break up a shitty hard ride with something nice and fluffy.
I have only 3 episodes left of Kill La Kill (I save it for my hardest segments only) and I'm dad that such a fun ass anime is nearly over. I'm not sure what I'll replace it with.
5 episodes into high school of the dead and it's good-bad. It's perfectly cliche.
I also rewatched Black Lagoon and it's even better than I remember. I wish all anime was that cool and wacky while still taking place in modern day earth.

I like Dragon Ball. Especially Z, it's hype from first episode until the last one. Even though I didn't really like the Oob thing, I think it's splendid.
Dragon Ball Super is different in tone from Z though. In Super, it is more serious, more thought out. Maybe that's wat I didn't really like. In Z, there is frequent trips to the Next World, and when people die, Goku is like "yeah, Shen Long, revive em" and that's that. In Super, they showed Emma like once for whole series, which leads me to think that Super is more pessimistic than Z. In Z Goku was dead, hell, he even missed birth of Goten because he wanted to train in Next World. In Super it's hard to imagine something like dat.
Z is very good at depth of the antagonists. When you watch the Cell saga, even if you know that they'll be all revived with the dragon balls, it still very damn spooky. Perfect Form Cell really gets you sweating at the end. Gohan there looks very cool, maybe only Goku in Autonomous Ultra Instinct is cooler.
One thing that I don't like in Super is the soundtrack. In Super, soundtrack is like from Hollywood movie. It's too epic, too serious. Z has very damn good soundtrack, it's just perfect for the show of this type. Sound design difference in Super makes it all different experience.
Though, Super has it moments. Goku Black for example. The Zenō Tournament of Power though, I dunno. It isn't Tenkaichi, so, I'm ain't a big fan, considering it is not explained in slightest why Jiren is so powerful. Well, actually, I don't really like Zeno. They are like Babidi for me, very annoying, though Chichi is far more annoying. Vegeta in Super is also more developed.
Future Trunks is cooler in Super. I don't really like the universes thing, Beerus supposed to be destroyer, but he didn't destroy a damn… Goku Black looked slick in Super, very cool character. I didn't really like Broly thing, there are three old movies about him, but damn he was very strong…
Basically, Dragon Ball is very good. If only people were as well cultured and human loving as Freeza… Freeza, my angel… Well, there are other anime I want to watch, Dandadan in particular. I've been experimenting with watching anime without subtitles, I watch Gabriel Dropout like dat. It's hard though, but I'm up there…
