Streaming content and subscriptions are inherently bad for the industry
2k drive is a gaas kusoge and the rest is indie.
When you understand this, you understand xbox is killing gaming
Most big streaming and subscription services are trying to follow the netflix business model where you displace most of the industry with subsidized subscriptions to generate growth and achieve monopoly and THEN sell to a megacorp or sharply raise sub prices.
Not sure if I can say this on Adam' board but it's a jewish wall street tactic.
Linus with his Floatplane sub streaming service is one of the players in the youtube game who tries to fight against this by making sure that subscriptions apply by creator and they are not a package deal thus making it sustainable
One more infamous example is that 2 years ago we had a slew of videos telling how we can install emulators on xbox series consoles easily. Approx half year ago that ended and now you need a 20$ developer account to do the same. Why? Because xbox entered into a streaming relationship with a company that specializes on streaming retrogames to consoles.
The tech industry is very telling about market mechanics because the high cost of entry limits smaller competitors so the big players play with open cards.
Wanna know why ps increased subscription costs? Because xbox sucks, that's why.
The slouch of xbox in this generation might as well unironically be responsible for the downfall of playstation.
Same happening in pc space. Very few competing companies react to eachother in real time, be it a price cut or a new product
